We are a generalist and insure many diverse businesses, but we have a concentration in not-for-profit organizations, restaurants, contractors, golf clubs, and medical professional offices.
Client Insurance Challenges
We have a strong Personal Lines team that is qualified to handle the issues and concerns that come up, such as coastal exposures, claims, credit history, and youthful operators.
Coastal exposure is a concern for most of our insurance carriers, but we have several admitted markets that will insure coastal locations for us. Most will require a wind/hail deductible of at least 1% depending on the proximity to the bay or ocean.
Our Benefits staff is equipped to handle the individual needs and concerns of our clients and prospects, such as high premiums and deductibles, the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, etc.
Why Choose the Newport News Branch of Bankers Insurance?
Providing care for our clients is in our blood. Our office has been the home to several generations, each having served and insured the needs of families and businesses on the Peninsula since 1897. We are very familiar with the exposures and concerns of local businesses. Our business sales team has over 70 years of experience with property and casualty insurance.

Local Economy Drivers
Newport News Shipbuilding is the largest industrial employer in Virginia. We also have several military bases that are home to the Army, Navy and Air Force.
