Due to our location and proximity to the Outer Banks, we have a special team of associates that handles exposures that are specific to the area. This makes coastal properties a specialty of ours. We write auto, homeowners, wind, flood, excess wind, flood, and general liability, whether the property is your primary, secondary, or a seasonal rental home. We offer coverages for inland properties as well.
We also specialize in business insurance services. We tailor coverage to everything from condo and homeowners associations to contractors, workers comp, retail, restaurants, auto services, florists, salons and boutiques.
Client Insurance Challenges
As you may guess, coastal property is at the top of the list. Thankfully, we have been in the market for quite some time and have several different carriers to choose from to insure you are getting the right rate and coverage for your property. We work hard at maintaining a strong relationship with our carriers so that we are up to date and even sometimes ahead of market changes, to help you make the most informed decision, should change be needed.
Coastal exposure, and therefore wind deductibles, again tops the list of insurance challenges for businesses. We have admitted carriers that will write coastal property, but underwriting guidelines are tightening and some carriers refuse to write wind altogether. Fortunately, we have the ability to quote coverage with the wind pool and if necessary we even have a few non-admitted carriers that can help cover the risk.
