Who We Will Consider

Bankers Insurance is looking for small and medium-sized insurance agencies in the mid-Atlantic region, primarily MD, DC, DE, NC, SC, TN, and WV. We will consider other regions given the correct circumstances. We are looking for agencies with a book of personal lines, commercial lines, and/or employee benefits. Niche agencies are especially attractive. Commercial business should be small to mid-market. We prefer the principals selling the insurance agency remain on staff for a few years, but that is not a requirement.

We are not looking to purchase:

  • A book of business to break up among our existing locations.
  • Agencies strictly focused on large commercial.
  • Agencies through insurance agency brokerage houses.

To be candid, we are not a good fit in every situation. Many factors weigh into selling an insurance agency and we will be fair to your business as well as our own. For example, you may run a finely-tuned, highly-profitable agency, but we may not be a good cultural fit. Alternatively, we’ve purchased agencies that struggled in areas because we could bring the necessary tools, resources, and discipline to bear and make the deal profitable for all.
